The Poppy Quarter, a 2004 Uncirculated 25 cent coin from Canada.
This coin is the world's first colored circulation coin. It features a brilliant red poppy, the symbol of remembrance that pays homage to the brave Canadian men and women who gave their lives in service, as well as the many veterans who helped to secure freedom. The 2004 colored poppy circulation coin was produced at the Mint's Winnipeg plant, using a high-speed, computer controlled and precision inkjet process. It has been named the Most Innovative Circulation Coin at the Mint Directors' Conference (MDC) in Paris, France.
