The 10th Anniversary $2, a 2006 uncirculated coin from Canada.
This 10th Anniversary $2 coin shows a beautiful new design of a polar bear. Also making its debut on the two-dollar coin is the RCM mint mark, featuring a stylized maple leaf emerging from the letter M within a circle.
The two-dollar coin was first introduced in Canada in 1996 to replace the two-dollar bill. It features an outer ring of nickel and an inner core of aluminum bronze in a bi-metallic coin-locking mechanism patented by the Royal Canadian Mint. This innovative technology allows the coin to last about 20 times longer than the note it replaced.
